Thank you to everyone who has helped us organize and conduct plantings in the Tampa Bay area in the past year! We look forward to a productive (and less viral) 2021!

Will Moriaty Named Outstanding Environmental Non-Profit Partner

We are pleased to announce that Keep Pinellas Beautiful has named Will Moriaty, the president of TREE, Inc., as the Outstanding Environmental Non-Profit Partner for the year 2020. Will was pleased to accept this award at an annual awards ceremony on December 4th, 2020. You can read more about this honor and everything else happening within TREE, Inc. (including a handful of plantings that are happening in January 2021) in the most recent copy of our newsletter.

Covid-19 Update

The leadership of T.R.E.E., Inc. continues to evaluate the feasibility of conducting tree planting projects in the Tampa Bay area. A small planting of ten people took place at the Camp Bayou Nature Reserve on June 13th that was done while maintaining social distancing guidelines advocated by the CDC. With the recent surge in Covid-19 cases in Florida, the status of future planting projects remains uncertain.


Due to the mandated stay-at-home order from Governor DeSantis, T.R.E.E. Inc. has made the painful decision to put all of its planned events on hold until further notice. We plan to work with local community organizations to reschedule all plantings once the restrictions surrounding this pandemic have eased. For the moment, however, we must prioritize the safety of our members and community by limiting all in-person social interactions – including our events.

T.R.E.E. Inc. Awarded Organization of the Year

We are pleased to announce that the City of St. Petersburg Parks and Recreation Department has named T.R.E.E. Inc. its 2019 Organization of the Year! Thank you to everyone involved with the organization that helped make this award happen!

2019 Year In Review

T.R.E.E. Inc.’s Most Succesful Year to Date!

Will Moriaty, President of T.R.E.E. Inc., is pleased to announce that 2019, TREE, Inc.’s 36th year in existence, was its most successful! Here is a brief summary of the organization’s accomplishments:
• Planted 1,404 trees.
• Performed 38 projects.
• Was awarded two prestigious honors, one from the City of St. Petersburg, the other from the Hillsborough Soil and Water Conservation District.
• Made possible an Educational Wetland Sign at the Plant City campus of Hillsborough Community College.
• Saw the election for 2020 of two new Directors, Hernan Maldonado as Treasure and Matt King as Secretary/Webmaster.
• Partnered with the Florida Aquarium, Keep Pinellas Beautiful and Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful to conduct mangrove and upland tree plantings on both sides of the Bay.
• Received a $1,000 Mini-Grant from C & S Wholesale Grocers of Keene, New Hampshire.
Thank you to all of our volunteers, partnering organizations, governmental agencies and donors for making 2019 so successful! We look forward to even more growth and success in 2020!
